Denholm Valvecare design and manufacture a range of valves with particular success in buckle pin valves.
The buckle pin type of valve is a precise relieving device for use in any emergency over-pressure situation. The principle for the valve design is based on Euler's Law of buckling. Denholm Valvecare design and manufacture these valves with sizes up to 36".
The pin is external to the system being protected and is held firmly at both ends. It is designed to buckle at a particular set point as a result of an axial force applied by system over pressure acting on an unbalanced piston stem area. When the pin buckles, the valve opens in milliseconds thereby safeguarding critical systems.
As the pins are an external part of the valve, they can be changed without intrusive work on the system or the valve.
